Esmeria is a fictional nation situated along a temperate coastline in the continent of Verdara. It is characterized by lush emerald landscapes, a rugged highland interior, and a longstanding maritime heritage.

The country covers a central highland spine with forests and river valleys, flanked by a coastal plain and several natural harbors. Its climate is maritime temperate with mild winters and warm summers, moderated by offshore breezes.

Esmeria originated as a network of city-states in the early medieval era and unified into a single realm in the late medieval period. In the modern era it transitioned to a constitutional monarchy with a representative parliament and a ceremonial monarch.

The state combines a constitutional framework with a market economy. The legislature consists of a Senate and a General Assembly; the Prime Minister leads the government, while the monarch serves a largely ceremonial role. Local administrations manage regional matters.

Esmeria maintains a diversified economy, with agriculture (olives, citrus, wine grapes), forestry and timber, and a growing service sector. Emerald mining and artisanal glass and ceramics add value, complemented by a busy coastal trade network and ecotourism.

The Esmerian population is ethnically diverse, with the majority speaking Esmerian alongside regional dialects. Cultural life centers on guilds, maritime festivals, markets, and craft traditions such as glassmaking and jewelry inspired by emeralds.

The country supports a network of ports, rail lines, and roads, plus universities and technical institutes. Public research emphasizes sustainable forestry, marine science, and renewable energy.
