Eseményorientált refers to a programming paradigm or architectural style where the flow of the program is determined by events. An event is any significant occurrence that happens within a system, such as a user clicking a button, a message arriving, or a sensor detecting a change. In an event-oriented system, components don't actively poll for changes; instead, they register to be notified when specific events occur.

When an event happens, a designated handler or listener is triggered. This handler then executes a specific piece of code in response to that event. This contrasts with more traditional procedural programming where the flow is dictated by a sequence of commands. Event-oriented approaches are often used in user interface development, where user interactions are the primary drivers of program behavior. They are also common in real-time systems, network programming, and distributed systems where asynchronous communication and responsiveness are crucial. The core principle is that the system reacts to stimuli rather than driving the process itself. This can lead to more flexible, modular, and responsive applications.
