Enotäätis

Enotäätis is a small island located in the Baltic Sea, situated approximately 7 kilometers off the coast of Estonia's mainland in the Gulf of Finland. The island is part of the municipal territory of Viimsi Parish, with an area of about 2.2 square kilometers.

Geographically, Enotäätis is a low-lying island, with its highest point reaching approximately 3 meters above sea level. The island is prone to flooding during high tides and storms. The terrain is mostly flat and comprised of sandy and muddy soil.

Enotäätis is of interest to nature lovers and ornithologists, as it is a crucial habitat for various bird species, including the European Golden Plover, Snipe, and Brent Goose. The island's vegetation is sparse and mainly consists of lichens, mosses, and some low-growing shrubs. Enotäätis is also known for its rocky shoreline and shallow waters, which provide suitable conditions for marine life.

The island has been designated as an Important Bird and Plant Area (IBA) and a part of the Natura 2000 network, which aims to protect the European Union's most valuable and threatened species and habitats.

Despite its remote location, Enotäätis is relatively accessible, with boat routes connecting the island to the mainland during the warmer months. However, due to its fragile ecosystem and sensitive nature, visitors are advised to respect the island's strict environmental protection rules and regulations to minimize their impact on the local wildlife.
