Endovizsgálat

Endovizsgálat, also known as endoscopic examination, is a medical procedure that involves inserting a flexible tube with a camera and light into the body to visualize internal organs and tissues. This technique allows physicians to diagnose and treat a variety of conditions without the need for invasive surgery.

The endoscope, the instrument used in the procedure, can be guided through natural openings in the body, such as the mouth, anus, or urethra, or through small incisions. The camera transmits images to a monitor, providing a detailed view of the internal structures. This allows for direct observation of the lining of organs like the esophagus, stomach, intestines, lungs, and bladder.

Endovizsgálat is a valuable diagnostic tool. It can detect abnormalities such as inflammation, ulcers, polyps, tumors, and bleeding. In some cases, biopsies can be taken during the procedure for further laboratory analysis. Beyond diagnosis, endovizsgálat can also be used therapeutically. For instance, endoscopes can be used to remove polyps, stop bleeding, dilate narrowed passages, or deliver medication directly to affected areas.

Common types of endovizsgálat include gastroscopy (examination of the esophagus, stomach, and duodenum), colonoscopy (examination of the large intestine), bronchoscopy (examination of the airways and lungs), and cystoscopy (examination of the bladder). The specific type of endovizsgálat performed depends on the area of the body being investigated and the suspected medical condition. Patients are typically given sedation to ensure comfort during the procedure, which usually takes a relatively short amount of time.
