Enciklopédiában

Enciklopédiában is a locative singular form of the noun enciklopédia, meaning “in the encyclopedia.” It is used to indicate location or source within an encyclopedic reference, for example when pointing to information found in a reference work rather than in other types of sources. A typical construction is the noun phrase followed by the locative form, as in “A cikk az enciklopédiában található,” meaning “The article is found in the encyclopedia.”

Etymology and formation: enciklopédia is borrowed from European linguistic traditions, ultimately rooted in Greek enkuklopedia, via Latin and other languages, to denote a comprehensive compilation of knowledge. In Hungarian, the locative case is formed with the suffix -ban or -ben, depending on vowel harmony. For enciklopédia, the resulting form is enciklopédiában, used to express “in the encyclopedia.” This form is one of several case forms used to express location or context in relation to the work.

Usage: Enciklopédiában is commonly employed when discussing information that originates from or is cited within a reference work.
