Elephantear

Elephantear is a type of decorative plant known for its striking, elephant-like leaves. The plant belongs to the genus *Colocasia*, specifically the species *Colocasia antiquorum*, and is closely related to taro, a staple food crop in many tropical regions. Its common name derives from the resemblance of its large, glossy leaves to the ears of an elephant.

Elephantear thrives in warm, humid environments and is commonly cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens, landscapes, and indoor settings. The plant features broad, arrowhead-shaped leaves that can grow up to 18 inches (45 cm) long, with a deep green color and prominent veins. Some varieties exhibit variegated patterns, adding visual interest to its appearance.

This plant is relatively easy to care for, requiring well-drained soil, partial to full shade, and consistent moisture.
