Ekstrudoidusta refers to a process and the resulting material of extrusion, a manufacturing technique where a material is forced through a die of a desired cross-section. This method is commonly used for plastics, metals, and food products. In the context of plastics, a heated thermoplastic is pushed through a die to create continuous profiles such as pipes, window frames, and films. For metals, processes like hot extrusion and cold extrusion shape alloys into various forms, often requiring significant force.

The extrusion process involves several key stages. First, the raw material, often in pellet or powder form for plastics, or billets for metals, is fed into an extruder barrel. A screw mechanism within the barrel rotates, conveying the material forward and applying heat and pressure to melt or soften it. The softened material is then forced through a specially shaped die at the end of the barrel. As the material exits the die, it cools and solidifies, retaining the die's shape. Subsequent steps may include cutting, stretching, or further processing depending on the final product.

The advantages of extrusion include the ability to produce complex cross-sectional shapes with high precision and consistency. It is also an efficient method for mass production, capable of generating long, continuous lengths of material.
