Eitsenese is a constructed language created for the fictional world of Eitsen. It was developed by the Eitsen Project, a collaboration of authors, linguists, and fans active since the early 2000s. In the fictional setting, Eitsenese is spoken by the Eitseni people who inhabit the archipelago of Eitsen and surrounding regions. The language serves as a primary medium for dialogue, culture, and lore within the works in which it appears.

Phonology: Eitsenese has five vowels, a, e, i, o, u, with occasional vowel harmony in affixation. The consonant inventory includes p, b, t, d, k, g, m, n, s, z, l, r, f, h, w, y. Syllables are typically CV or CVC, and the language avoids heavy consonant clusters. Stress is commonly on the penultimate syllable.

Grammar: Eitsenese is predominantly analytic with limited affixal marking. The basic word order is subject–verb–object. Nouns have no grammatical gender; plurality is expressed by a plural marker, by determiners, or by context. Verbs show aspect rather than explicit tense, with particles marking completed versus ongoing actions. Adjectives generally follow nouns, and modifiers are connected by simple function words.

Writing and lexicon: The standard orthography is a Latin-based script with diacritics to indicate vowel quality. The lexicon includes borrowings from neighboring languages within the fictional world, especially in technology, trade, and culture. A community of readers and language enthusiasts maintains dictionaries, grammars, and learning resources online.

Usage and status: Eitsenese remains a fictional language with no official status outside its narratives. Dialects and registers appear across different works, with varying orthographic conventions and stylistic norms depending on the author or medium.
