EUDurchschnitts
EUDurchschnitts, or EU average, is a statistical reference value representing the central tendency of a given indicator across the member states of the European Union. It is used to compare national performance and to monitor progress toward EU-wide policy objectives. The EU average can be shown as an unweighted simple mean or as a weighted mean, with weights commonly reflecting population size so that larger countries have a greater influence on the average. In practice, Eurostat and other statistical agencies describe the EU average for a given year, noting whether the computation covers the current EU member states (for example EU27 after the United Kingdom’s withdrawal) or a historical configuration such as EU28.
Data for the EU average are gathered from national statistical offices and Eurostat. Indicators commonly presented
