EPALstandard

EPALstandard refers to the specification framework maintained by the European Pallet Association (EPAL) for wooden pallets used in European logistics. The standard chiefly governs the EUR-pallet, a pallet sized 1200 by 800 millimeters designed for four-way forklift access, and it defines construction requirements, tolerances, load-bearing capabilities, and labeling to ensure interchangeability across users and countries.

EPAL is a registered association (EPAL e.V.) that coordinates a licensing system for pallet production and refurbishment.

A key feature of EPALstandard is its emphasis on a long, reusable service life within a pallet-pooling

In practice, EPALstandard is widely applied across industries that rely on pallets for transport and storage.
