ECDLs

The European Computer Driving Licence, commonly known as ECDL or ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence) outside of Europe, is a widely recognized digital literacy certification. It aims to equip individuals with fundamental computer skills essential for both personal and professional use. The program is managed by ECDL Foundation, an international non-profit organization.

ECDL certifications are structured into modules, each focusing on a specific software application or IT concept. Common modules include document creation, spreadsheets, databases, presentations, and internet and email. Advanced modules are also available, covering areas such as advanced document creation or advanced spreadsheets. Successful completion of a set of core modules leads to the full ECDL qualification.

The certification process typically involves taking a computer-based test for each module. These tests are designed to assess practical skills rather than theoretical knowledge. ECDL is recognized by employers, educational institutions, and governments worldwide as a standard measure of computer proficiency.
