Drucktransducern

Drucktransducern, or pressure transducers, are devices that convert a pressure field into an electrical signal. They are used to measure gas or liquid pressure in gauge, absolute, or differential configurations and are designed to feed process controllers, data loggers, or safety systems. Unlike mechanical pressure gauges, transducers provide an electrical output suitable for automated monitoring and control.

The sensing element is central to performance. Common technologies include strain-gauge or piezoresistive elements that translate deflection into resistance changes, capacitive sensors that detect small changes in plate spacing, and piezoelectric crystals that generate charge under dynamic pressure. Some transducers employ optical or resonant sensing for specialized environments. Output options vary from analog voltages (such as 0-10 V or mV/V) and current loops (4-20 mA) to digital interfaces (I2C, SPI) and sometimes fieldbuses.

Transducers are selected by pressure range, accuracy, stability, temperature range, and response time. Temperature effects, hysteresis, and nonlinearity influence performance, and many devices include compensation, seals, and protective coatings for compatibility with the measured media. Calibration is typically done against traceable standards to ensure specified accuracy.

Applications span industrial process control, hydraulics and pneumatics, automotive and aerospace systems, medical instrumentation, and environmental monitoring. Related devices include gauges, transmitters, and differential pressure sensors used for filter monitoring, flow, and leak detection.

Design and safety considerations include wetted material compatibility, explosion protection, electrical isolation, and protection against overpressure. Standards and testing procedures may reference national or international metrology practices, with manufacturers providing data sheets detailing electrical interfaces, accuracy classes, and environmental limits.
