Doelweergave

Doelweergave is a Dutch term that literally translates to 'goal display' and is used to describe the presentation of goals, targets, or objectives in various contexts. The term combines doel (goal or objective) and weergave (display or presentation). While not a single standardized concept, doelweergave is commonly used in Dutch-language documentation to refer to UI components, dashboards, or scoreboards that communicate goals and progress to users.

In sports, doelweergave often refers to the portion of a scoreboard or live feed that presents scoring information, match objectives, or target outcomes (e.g., team goals, shot counts). In information systems and business intelligence, a doelweergave is a visualization or panel that shows committed goals, current performance, and gaps toward targets. It can be graphic (progress bars, gauges) or textual (lists of goals, KPIs).

Design and implementation considerations include clarity, concise labeling, color coding for status, up-to-date data, accessibility for color-vision deficiencies, localization support, and the ability to drill down into individual goals.

Examples include a sales dashboard that displays a doelweergave panel with quarterly revenue goal, actual revenue, and percentage of target; a project-management tool that shows milestones and success criteria.
