Demodulujacy

Demodulujacy, proper Polish form demodulujący, is an adjective in the Polish language describing anything that performs or relates to demodulation. The term derives from demodulacja (demodulation) and the verb demodulować. In practical use it describes devices, blocks of circuitry, or algorithms that extract information from a modulated carrier signal.

Applications are found in electronics, telecommunications, and signal processing. In analog contexts, demodulation involves recovering the information from a modulated signal, such as envelope detection for amplitude modulation (AM) or frequency and phase demodulation for FM and PM using discriminators or phase-locked loops. In digital contexts, demodulation refers to recovering bits or symbols from digitally modulated waveforms (for example BPSK, QPSK, 8PSK, QAM). Accurate demodulation often requires synchronization of the carrier, timing recovery, and error correction.

Modern systems frequently combine demodulating functions with digital processing: demodulating blocks implemented in digital signal processors or application-specific integrated circuits, running software or firmware to perform the demodulation and subsequent decoding. The term is commonly used in technical documentation, specifications, and product descriptions to designate components or processes that perform demodulation, as opposed to modulation, which encodes information onto a carrier.
