Delovneterapevtske, often shortened to OT, is a health profession focused on helping people engage in the meaningful activities of life. Occupational therapists work with individuals of all ages who may be experiencing difficulties due to physical, developmental, cognitive, or emotional challenges. Their goal is to enable people to participate fully in the things they need and want to do.

Occupational therapists use a variety of approaches. They might help a child with developmental delays learn to play and interact with others. For an adult recovering from an injury, an OT could assist in regaining the skills needed for daily tasks like dressing or cooking, or adapting their home environment to make it more accessible. They also support individuals with mental health conditions by developing strategies to manage stress, improve social skills, and find structure in their daily routines.

The core of occupational therapy lies in understanding the person within their environment and the occupations that are important to them. This involves assessing the individual's abilities and challenges, identifying barriers to participation, and collaboratively developing a plan of intervention. This intervention can include the use of therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and teaching new skills or strategies. Ultimately, occupational therapy aims to promote health, well-being, and independence by empowering individuals to live more fulfilling lives.
