DICOMSTL refers to the conversion of Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) data into the Stereolithography (STL) file format. DICOM is the standard for medical imaging, containing information about patient scans such as CT or MRI. STL is a file format commonly used for 3D printing and computer-aided design (CAD).

The process of converting DICOM to STL typically involves segmenting the relevant anatomical structures from the DICOM series. This segmentation can be done manually by a radiologist or technician, or it can be automated using specialized software that identifies boundaries between different tissues or organs.
