DACiin

DACiin is an open hardware and software platform designed to provide high-fidelity digital-to-analog conversion and signal processing for audio and scientific applications. The project emphasizes modularity and openness, enabling users to assemble DAC boards, clocks, and DSP firmware into customized configurations.

Hardware is built around a reusable baseboard that hosts a microcontroller or FPGA core and a range of plug-in DAC daughterboards. Interfaces include I2S, PCM, SPDIF, USB audio class, and Ethernet in some implementations. The design incorporates robust clock management, jitter suppression, and optional galvanic isolation to support sensitive measurements. The project aims to encourage interoperability and transparent benchmarking across DAC implementations.
