Comfortenhancing
Comfortenhancing is an adjective used to describe interventions, products, environments, or practices that aim to increase an individual’s subjective sense of ease and well-being. It covers physical comfort—such as temperature, seating, bedding, and lighting—as well as cognitive and emotional aspects, including clarity of information, predictable routines, privacy, and social support. While commonly encountered in consumer design, the term is also used in clinical, architectural, and workplace contexts to denote strategies that reduce stress and discomfort without changing underlying conditions.
