Changesmajor is a term used in some software development workflows to classify changes that constitute a major shift in a project, particularly those that break backward compatibility or require significant migration effort for users. It is a conventional label rather than a formal standard, applied by teams to indicate that a given change requires attention beyond regular bug fixes or minor improvements.

In practice, changesmajor is used as a tag or label in sources such as changelogs, commit messages, issue trackers, or release notes. It signals that the change is not backward compatible and that users may need to update integrations, configurations, or code. When a changesmajor item is documented, teams often pair it with a corresponding major version release and with migration guidance.

The concept is closely linked to semantic versioning. The appearance of a changesmajor signal frequently coincides with a major version bump (for example, moving from 1.x to 2.0.0). It may also prompt a migration path, deprecation notices, or a timeline for feature removals.
