Cellulematrice

Cellulematrice is a term used in mathematics and computing to refer to an individual element of a matrix, also known as a matrix entry or matrix element. The concept is common across many languages, with translations such as cellule matrice or matrix element. In a matrix, each cellulematrice is identified by a pair of indices (i, j), where i indicates the row and j indicates the column. The value stored at this position is denoted aij.

A cellulematrice may store various data types depending on the context and programming language. In pure mathematics, it is typically a real or complex number. In computer applications, it can be an integer, boolean, or even an object, enabling matrices of mixed or more complex data types. During matrix operations, the values of cellulematrice participate in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and function applications performed entrywise or through linear transformations.

In terms of storage, a matrix’s cellulematrice values are laid out in memory according to a chosen convention, commonly row-major or column-major order. This affects data access patterns and performance but not the abstract mathematical properties of the matrix.
