Cayleyho

Cayleyho is a fictional town created for a hypothetical geography project and located in the Verdant Basin region of the country of Eldoria. The name honors the 19th-century mathematician Arthur Cayley, and it is used to emphasize the town’s long-standing connection to science and education.

The town sits in a broad river valley bordered by farmland and deciduous woodland. It experiences a temperate maritime climate with mild summers and cool winters, and about 900–1,100 millimeters of precipitation annually. The nearby Neral River provides irrigation and historically supported small-scale milling.

Cayleyho was founded in the late 19th century by agricultural settlers and grew with the arrival of the regional railway in the early 20th century. It received its town charter in 1924 and gradually diversified from farming into industry and education.

The town is governed by a mayor and a 12-member town council. As of the latest estimates, Cayleyho has about 12,500 residents, with a mix of families, students, and local workers. The population is concentrated in a compact town center with outlying farming communities.

The economy centers on agriculture, dairy processing, and light manufacturing, complemented by logistics and services. A small research campus, the Cayleyho Institute of Science and Technology, hosts several applied science programs. Transportation includes a regional rail line, a primary highway, and a small public airfield used for regional flights.

The public library system operates with a central library in the town center. Cayleyho hosts an annual science festival, local sports clubs, and cultural events that reflect a mix of agricultural heritage and modern education.
