Castoriadis
Cornelius Castoriadis (1922–1997) was a Greek-French philosopher, political theorist, psychoanalyst, and social activist, best known for his contributions to autonomy theory, radical democracy, and critical social theory. Born in Constantinople (now Istanbul) to a Greek family, he spent his early years in Greece before fleeing to France in 1945 to escape political persecution. He became a naturalized French citizen in 1956.
