CTvizsgálattal, commonly known as CT scan or computed tomography, is a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to create detailed cross-sectional images of the body. It combines multiple X-ray images taken from different angles to produce a three-dimensional view of internal organs, bones, soft tissues, and blood vessels. This allows for precise visualization of structures that may not be clearly seen with conventional X-rays.

The procedure involves the patient lying on a motorized table that moves through a donut-shaped X-ray scanner. As the X-ray tube rotates around the patient, it emits beams that pass through the body. Detectors on the opposite side measure the intensity of the X-rays after they have been absorbed by different tissues. A computer then processes this data to reconstruct the detailed images. In some cases, a contrast agent, either swallowed or injected, may be used to enhance the visibility of specific tissues or blood vessels. CT scans are generally painless and relatively quick. They are widely used for diagnosing a variety of conditions, including injuries, tumors, infections, and vascular diseases. The radiation dose from a CT scan is higher than a standard X-ray, but the benefits in diagnosis often outweigh the risks, especially when performed judiciously.
