CTmethoden refers to computed tomography methods. Computed tomography, often abbreviated as CT, is a medical imaging technique that utilizes X-rays and computer processing to create cross-sectional images of the body. These images, also known as slices, can then be viewed in three dimensions. The process involves a patient lying on a table that slides through a donut-shaped machine, the CT scanner. As the X-ray tube and detectors rotate around the patient, they emit and capture X-rays from multiple angles. A powerful computer then processes this data, reconstructing detailed images of the internal structures. Different CT methods exist, varying in factors like scanner speed, detector technology, and the use of contrast agents. Contrast agents, which are substances that enhance the visibility of certain tissues or blood vessels, can be administered orally, intravenously, or rectally to improve diagnostic accuracy for specific examinations.

The applications of CTmethoden are broad, spanning emergency medicine, oncology, neurology, and orthopedics.
