CCSDS-related refers to standards and practices developed under the auspices of the Consultative Committee for Space Data Systems (CCSDS). CCSDS is an international collaboration of space agencies and industry partners that produces recommendations to enable interoperable space data systems across missions, ground segments, and vendors.

CCSDS publishes families of standards that cover data encoding, packetization, and communication on space links. Key areas include the Space Packet Protocol for organizing telemetry and telecommand data into transport packets; Space Data Link protocols that provide framing, error detection, and reliable transfer over space links; and the File Delivery Protocol (CFDP), a reliable file-transfer protocol used to move files between spacecraft and ground systems. Other areas address onboard data handling, mission operations interfaces, and data management.

Adoption of CCSDS standards promotes interoperability among missions and ground networks worldwide. They are used by many national space agencies and commercial vendors, supporting data exchange, command and control, and science data delivery. CFDP, for example, has seen broad deployment on deep-space and near-Earth missions, while space data link and packet standards underpin the spacecraft telemetry, command, and information flows across mission control centers.

Development and governance are carried out by CCSDS working groups and member organizations. New or revised recommendations undergo review, testing, and harmonization with related standards bodies. CCSDS standards are published as informally named recommendations and may align with ISO, IEEE, and other international standards to support broader adoption and cross-platform interoperability.
