Bråbremsing

Bråbremsing, often translated as abrupt braking or sudden stopping, refers to the act of decelerating a vehicle from a high speed to a near standstill in a very short period of time. This maneuver is typically initiated by the driver applying significant force to the brake pedal, engaging the vehicle's braking system with maximum intensity.

The primary purpose of bråbremsing is usually to avoid an imminent collision or to react to an unexpected obstacle in the vehicle's path. It is a critical safety feature in modern vehicles, designed to minimize stopping distances. Anti-lock Braking Systems (ABS) play a crucial role in facilitating effective bråbremsing by preventing the wheels from locking up, allowing the driver to maintain steering control during the deceleration.

While essential for safety, bråbremsing can also be a sign of poor driving habits or dangerous road conditions. Frequent or unnecessary abrupt braking can indicate a lack of anticipation, following too closely, or excessive speed. It can also lead to increased wear on brake components and tires.
