This method allows the beverage to undergo further maturation outside conventional cask aging, often resulting in unique flavor developments and characteristics.

The concept of bottle aging gained popularity among collectors and enthusiasts seeking to enhance the complexity or smoothness of a beverage. During bottleaged storage, chemical reactions continue at a slow pace, influenced by factors such as light, temperature, and oxygen permeability through the glass.
