BoDV1

BoDV1 is a strain of the Borna disease virus. Borna disease is a neurological illness that affects animals, primarily horses and sheep, but can also be found in birds and other mammals. The virus is known to cause behavioral changes, motor deficits, and progressive neurological dysfunction. BoDV1 is one of the identified genotypes of Borna disease virus, with others including BoDV2, BoDV3, and BoDV4, each showing some differences in host range and geographic distribution.

The transmission of Borna disease virus is not fully understood, but it is believed to occur through direct contact with infected animals or their bodily fluids.
