Bladanalyse

Bladanalyse refers to the process of analyzing trace amounts of the pesticide parathion. Parathion is an organophosphate insecticide that was once widely used in agriculture but has since been banned or heavily restricted in many countries due to its high toxicity to humans and wildlife. The analysis of bladan, as it was commonly known, became crucial for monitoring environmental contamination and assessing potential health risks.

Historically, bladanalyse involved chemical techniques to detect and quantify the presence of parathion in various matrices such as soil, water, food, and biological samples. These methods often relied on gas chromatography or liquid chromatography coupled with specific detectors.
