Beroendekedja

Beroendekedja, also known as dependency inversion, is a principle in software engineering that is part of the SOLID design principles. It advocates that high-level modules should not depend on low-level modules, but both should depend on abstractions. This principle helps to reduce direct dependencies between different layers of an application, promoting flexibility, maintainability, and testability.

The core idea behind beroendekedja is to decouple the implementation details of a system from its high-level design. By introducing an abstraction layer—such as interfaces or abstract classes—both high-level and low-level components interact through this abstraction rather than directly with each other. This allows for greater modularity, as changes in low-level implementations do not necessarily require modifications in high-level logic.

In practice, beroendekedja is often applied through dependency injection, where dependencies are provided externally rather than being hardcoded within a class. This approach ensures that components remain loosely coupled, making the system easier to extend or refactor. For example, a database access layer might implement an interface, allowing the business logic layer to depend on the interface rather than a specific database driver.

Adhering to beroendekedja helps mitigate risks associated with tight coupling, such as increased complexity and difficulty in maintaining or scaling applications. It also facilitates unit testing, as dependencies can be mocked or replaced with test doubles.
