BSC
BSC is an acronym that can refer to several different organizations, technologies, and concepts depending on context. The most prominent current use is Binance Smart Chain, commonly abbreviated as BSC. Binance Smart Chain is a blockchain platform launched by Binance in 2020 to enable smart contracts and decentralized applications. It runs in parallel with Binance Chain and uses a dual-chain architecture to support cross-chain transfers. BSC is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, allowing developers to deploy Ethereum-based apps with relatively low transaction fees and faster confirmation times. In 2022–2023 Binance rebranded the ecosystem as BNB Chain to emphasize cross-chain interoperability, though the term BSC is still widely used to refer to the original smart-chain functionality.
