Auswerfers

Auswerfers is a German term for ejectors used in tooling and manufacturing. An Auswerfer is any device that forcibly removes a freshly formed part from a mold, die, or cavity after the forming operation. The term covers both individual ejector pins and larger ejector systems, including plates and bars, that push parts out of the tool.

Additional elements may include cam or hydraulic circuits for controlled timing, sleeve or core pullers for complex parts, and wear-resistant tips or coatings to extend service life.

Design considerations

Key factors are ejector location and stroke, pin diameter and pitch, and the force required to release the part without causing deformation or flashing. Materials are commonly hardened steel or carbide for wear resistance; surface finishes and coatings reduce sticking. Proper alignment, robust return mechanisms, and regular maintenance mitigate wear, sticking, and mis-ejection.
