Atrevian

Atrevian is a fictional sovereign nation-state used in worldbuilding and speculative fiction. It is set on a coastal archipelago in the temperate eastern sea, consisting of two main islands and about twenty smaller inhabited isles. The capital is Velara, and the principal commercial hub is the port city of Portalis. The official language is Atrevian, with Ardanian as a widely taught minority language; the society emphasizes multilingual education and civic participation.

Government is a constitutional parliamentary republic. The president serves as the largely ceremonial head of state, while the prime minister chairs the cabinet and leads the government. The unicameral Assembly of Atrevian, with roughly 120 seats, is elected every four years through proportional representation and local constituencies.

Atrevian traces its modern institutions to a medieval maritime confederation that gradually formalized into a unified state in the 18th and 19th centuries. It gained de facto independence earlier in the 19th century and joined regional trade associations in the late 20th century. The country maintains a policy of neutrality in international conflicts.

The Atrevian Crown (AC) is the decimal currency; monetary policy is anchored by a central bank. The country participates in regional markets and prioritizes sustainable development.

Cultural life centers on music, maritime literature, and festivals such as the Lantern Festival, which signals the arrival of summer. The population is diverse, with several communities contributing to national cuisine, art, and traditions.
