Arvine is a white grape variety grown mainly in the Valais region of Switzerland, where it is one of the traditional varieties used to produce distinctive high-quality whites. The vine is late ripening and tends to yield moderate crop levels, thriving on sunny, well-drained sites.

Wines made from Arvine are typically dry and display high acidity, with an aromatic profile that can include citrus fruits such as grapefruit and lemon, as well as pear and white peach. Many examples show a pronounced mineral or saline character, sometimes described as a chalky or stony finish. Styles range from light, crisp wines to richer, more concentrated expressions, and winemakers often use neutral oak or stainless steel to preserve the grape’s fresh character.
