Arnwalde

Arnwalde is a historic town and civil parish in the northern duchy of Northendorf, within the fictional realm of Veridia. It sits on the banks of the River Lark and is surrounded by mixed deciduous forests and cultivated fields. The name Arnwalde is commonly traced to Old High German, with elements meaning "eagle" (arn) and "forest" (wald).

Arnwalde is first mentioned in documents from around 1123 as a small market settlement. It received scattered town rights in 1316 and long served as a local trading hub for grain, wool, and timber. The arrival of the railway in the late 19th century linked Arnwalde to larger markets, promoting textiles, crafts, and commuting. In the 20th century the town aligned with regional modernization while retaining many historic buildings; the population stabilized near 1,800 residents.
