A typical arendusteame is cross-functional and self-organizing, aligning with product goals and stakeholders. The team is usually focused on end-to-end delivery, from planning to deployment.

A typical arendusteame includes roles such as product owner or product manager, a team lead or Scrum master, software developers, QA testers, UI/UX designers, and often DevOps or site reliability engineers. The size commonly ranges from five to nine members to maintain effective communication and decision-making. Team members share responsibilities for planning, analysis, implementation, testing, and deployment.

Working practices often follow agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban. Teams participate in regular ceremonies like planning meetings, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, and they adopt practices such as continuous integration, automated testing, and iterative releases.
