Antropologit

Antropologit are scholars who study humans in all their dimensions, including culture, language, biology, and social organization. The term is the plural form of antropologi in Finnish. In English, the corresponding term is anthropologists. The field encompasses subdisciplines such as cultural anthropology, physical/biological anthropology, linguistic anthropology, and archaeology. Antropologit typically employ a mix of methods, with fieldwork and ethnography central to many approaches, supplemented by archival research, interviews, participant observation, quantitative analysis, and laboratory techniques.

They work across universities, museums, research institutes, international organizations, NGOs, and government agencies. Their activities include conducting field studies, analyzing social and cultural data, advising on policy, and supporting cultural preservation and development initiatives. The discipline aims to understand human diversity, social institutions, belief systems, language, and historical processes, as well as patterns of globalization and transnational exchange.

Historically, anthropology developed in the 19th and 20th centuries, evolving from colonial contexts toward reflexive and critical approaches.
