Antihisztaminoknál
Antihisztaminoknál, or antihistamines, are a class of drugs that work by blocking the action of histamine, a chemical produced by the body's immune system. Histamine is responsible for many of the symptoms associated with allergic reactions, such as itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. When an allergen, like pollen or pet dander, enters the body, it triggers the release of histamine, which then binds to specific receptors on cells, causing these allergic symptoms. Antihistamines act by occupying these receptors, preventing histamine from binding and thus alleviating the symptoms.
There are several generations of antihistamines. First-generation antihistamines, like diphenhydramine, are known for their sedative effects
Antihistamines are commonly used to treat a range of conditions, including seasonal allergies (hay fever), chronic
