Alustehnikat

Alustehnikat, meaning “platform technologies” in Finnish, are the foundational technologies that enable the development, deployment, and operation of products, services, and systems. They provide shared capabilities and interfaces that make it possible for multiple components to work together, scale, and evolve with changing requirements.

They span hardware platforms (processors, system-on-a-chip devices, sensors); software platforms (operating systems, middleware, runtimes, APIs); data platforms (storage systems, data processing, analytics, AI); and connectivity and integration standards (networks, protocols, APIs, governance). By establishing common interfaces and environments, alustehnikat reduce duplication and facilitate interoperability across applications and organizations.
