Alergolodzy

Alergolodzy are individuals who possess an allergy to BTX (botulinum toxin) injections, specifically used in aesthetic treatments such as wrinkle reduction and facial rejuvenation. BTX, sold under various brand names including Botox and Dysport, works by blocking nerve signals thus temporarily paralyzing muscles and reducing wrinkles.

Those allergic to BTX may experience a hypersensitive reaction after a treatment session, manifesting in symptoms such as redness, swelling, bruising, or rash at the injection site. This can range from moderate discomfort to severe reactions, including rare cases of anaphylaxis. The severity and timing of these adverse effects vary among individuals, with some developing severe reactions quickly after treatment and others experiencing symptoms several hours or even days afterward.

In some cases, patients who were previously tolerant of BTX eventually develop an allergy. Various theories attempt to explain this phenomenon, focusing on factors such as changes in enzyme production, differences in tissue sensitivity, or immune system alterations. However, the underlying mechanisms behind the development of BTX allergy remain not fully understood.

Medical professionals and patients must exercise caution when utilizing BTX-based treatments, especially for individuals at risk or those with pre-existing allergies.
