Agastya

Agastya, also called Agasti or Agastiyar, is a revered ancient sage in Hinduism and in Tamil Siddha tradition. He is frequently described as a venerated rishi whose wisdom spans multiple domains, including spirituality, medicine, and scholarship. In various Hindu traditions he is listed among the Saptarishi, the seven great sages who figure prominently in ancient lore, though exact lists vary by text.
