It does not correspond to a real lineage in current plant classifications. The name Adrenergisia is a constructed term and is not linked to a known etymology; it is used in teaching to discuss how genera are defined and described.

In the hypothetical account, Adrenergisia would be placed within the broader grouping Plantae, as a dicotyledonous angiosperm. It is described as having simple, alternate leaves with entire margins, and small hermaphroditic flowers arranged in loose inflorescences. Flowers typically show five petals that are white to pale yellow, and the fruit is a dry capsule that splits to release seeds.

The fictional ecology places Adrenergisia in tropical montane forests where it grows as an understory shrub or small tree up to 6–10 meters tall.
