Adiestrás

Adiestrás is a form that is commonly encountered as a mistaken spelling of the second-person singular present indicative of adiestrar. In standard Spanish the corresponding form is tú adiestras. The verb adiestrar means to train or prepare someone or something to perform tasks, behave according to rules, or accept guidance. It is used for both animals and people, with applications in animal training (dogs, horses, dolphins), sports coaching, military or service training, and professional skill development.

Adiestramiento is the process of training; adiestrador or adiestradora is a person who trains others or animals; adiestrado denotes a trained animal or person. The reflexive form adiestrarse exists, meaning to train oneself or to undergo training.

Training methods vary and have evolved toward humane approaches. Modern adiestramiento emphasizes positive reinforcement, consistency, and welfare considerations; punitive methods have become less accepted and may be regulated by law in many places.
