Öövaatlusseadmed, also known as night vision devices, are optical instruments that allow for the observation of objects in low-light conditions or complete darkness. These devices work by amplifying existing ambient light or by emitting their own infrared illumination.

There are several main types of night vision technology. Image intensification devices amplify available light, such as starlight or moonlight, and present it as a brighter image. These devices often have a green or black and white hue. Thermal imaging devices, on the other hand, detect infrared radiation emitted by objects.
