Ülekandevärvid

Ülekandevärvid, also known as transfer printing or heat transfer, are a method of applying designs and images onto various substrates, most commonly textiles. This process involves printing a design onto a special type of paper or film, which is then transferred to the target material using heat and pressure. The ink on the transfer paper essentially fuses with the fibers of the substrate.

There are several types of ülekandevärvid. One common method uses sublimation inks, which turn into a gas when heated and then permeate the fibers of polyester-based materials. This results in a vibrant, durable print that is very resistant to fading and cracking. Another type involves plastisol inks, which are often used for more opaque designs and can be applied to a wider range of fabrics, including cotton. These inks sit on top of the fabric rather than penetrating it.

The application process typically requires a heat press machine to ensure consistent temperature and pressure. The design, printed in reverse on the transfer material, is placed face down onto the substrate, and then the heat press is applied for a specific duration. Once cooled, the transfer paper or film is peeled away, leaving the design permanently on the item.

Ülekandevärvid are popular for their versatility, allowing for intricate designs, full-color images, and even photographic reproduction. They are commonly used for custom apparel, promotional merchandise, sportswear, and personalized gifts. The durability and quality of the final print depend on the type of transfer material, ink used, and the application process.
