Öryggisbætur

Öryggisbætur is an Icelandic term referring to enhancements or supplements to security measures designed to reduce risk and protect people, property, or information. The word combines öryggi (security, safety) with bætur (increases, supplements), and is used in policy and organizational contexts to describe actions that strengthen existing safeguards.

Applications and sectors include information security, physical security, workplace safety, public safety, transport, and healthcare. In IT, typical öryggisbætur include access controls, encryption, patch management, network monitoring, incident response planning, and security training. In physical security, they cover access control systems, surveillance, alarms, and security personnel.
