Õlipumpade

Õlipumpade, commonly translated as oil pumps, are essential mechanical devices used to move oil or other similar viscous fluids. Their primary function is to create a flow of oil, often for lubrication, hydraulic power, or fuel delivery. Different types of oil pumps exist, each suited for specific applications.

One common type is the gear pump, which uses meshing gears to trap and move the fluid. As the gears rotate, they create expanding cavities on the inlet side, drawing in oil, and contracting cavities on the outlet side, forcing the oil out under pressure. Vane pumps are another type, employing a rotor with sliding vanes that are thrown outwards by centrifugal force, creating chambers that expand and contract to pump the fluid. Lobe pumps, similar to gear pumps, use externally lobed rotors to move the fluid. Piston pumps, while less common for simple oil transfer, are used in high-pressure applications and utilize reciprocating pistons.

Õlipumpade are found in a vast array of machinery and systems. In internal combustion engines, they are critical for lubricating moving parts, preventing wear and overheating. In hydraulic systems, they generate the pressure needed to operate actuators like cylinders and motors. They are also utilized in fuel injection systems, industrial machinery, and even in domestic oil heating systems. The selection of an appropriate oil pump depends on factors such as the required flow rate, pressure, viscosity of the fluid, and operating environment. Regular maintenance and proper installation are key to ensuring the longevity and efficiency of any oil pump system.
