Õhksoojussüsteem

Õhksoojussüsteem refers to an air-to-air heat pump system used for heating and cooling buildings. It functions by transferring heat between the indoor and outdoor air. During the heating season, the system extracts heat from the outside air, even at low temperatures, and transfers it indoors. In the cooling season, it reverses the process, removing heat from the indoor air and expelling it outside.

The core components of an õhksoojussüsteem include an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units. The outdoor unit contains a compressor and a coil that interacts with the ambient air. The indoor unit, typically mounted on a wall, houses a fan and another coil that circulates air within the room. Refrigerant circulates between these units, absorbing and releasing heat as needed.

These systems are popular for their energy efficiency. They do not generate heat directly but rather move existing heat, making them more economical than many traditional heating methods. Installation is generally less complex and costly compared to systems requiring extensive ductwork or fuel storage. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning filters and checking refrigerant levels, is recommended to ensure optimal performance and longevity. The effectiveness of an õhksoojussüsteem can be influenced by external temperature, with performance potentially decreasing in very cold climates, though modern units are designed to operate efficiently even in sub-zero conditions.
