Érzészavarokról, or sensory impairments, refer to conditions that affect a person's ability to perceive stimuli through their senses. These impairments can range from mild to severe and can impact any of the five primary senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch, as well as other sensory modalities like proprioception (body position awareness) and interoception (internal bodily states).

Visual impairments include conditions like blindness and low vision, which can result from diseases of the eye, optic nerve damage, or brain injuries. Hearing impairments, such as deafness and hard of hearing, can be caused by genetic factors, infections, noise exposure, or aging. Smell and taste impairments, known as anosmia and ageusia respectively, can be due to viral infections, head injuries, or neurodegenerative diseases. Touch impairments can manifest as reduced sensation, increased sensitivity (hyperesthesia), or abnormal sensations like pain or tingling.

Sensory impairments can significantly affect an individual's daily life, impacting communication, mobility, learning, and social interaction. The causes are diverse, including congenital conditions, acquired injuries, diseases, and the aging process. Diagnosis typically involves specialized testing by healthcare professionals. Management strategies vary depending on the specific impairment and can include assistive devices, therapies, and environmental modifications to enhance perception and function. Research continues to explore new treatments and interventions to improve the quality of life for individuals with sensory impairments.
