xat

Xat is a term with multiple notable meanings. The most widely known is xat.com, a web-based chat service that enables users to create and join chat rooms, chat in real time, and customize room appearance and widgets. Launched in the early 2000s, xat provides built-in features such as profiles, emoticons, moderation tools, and a system of virtual currencies (often referred to as xats and gems) used to purchase room enhancements and services. The platform has been used for social chat, gaming communities, and fan spaces, and it supports embedding chat widgets on third-party sites. Over time, its popularity has varied as users have migrated to other messaging platforms and privacy concerns have been raised.

The acronym XAT refers to the Xavier Aptitude Test, a national-level entrance examination in India for management
